Wired covers YouTube’s revenue efforts, but doesn’t mention it’s also being gamed

Good summary of the way publishers can monetise content when they discover someone’s uploaded their clip.

But I also noticed people are gaming it. Did a search for bionic sprinter-man Usain Bolt, and the top videos of his Berlin 100m effort all had weird soundtracks on top and I think ads or captions that placed the weird soundtracks in the foreground – figuratively and literally – of the video.
