excellent overview of the table-less form debate, with a very simple table-less solution

6 Nov

I should have blogged about this earlier …

Sam kindly took up my challenge to post his technique for table-less
forms. The summary is here:

He covers the “yes you should, no I can’t” tables vs css debate and
comes up with a very simple cross-browser idiom which I’ll be keen to
try next chance I get:

span,legend{ display:-moz-inline-box; display:inline-block; }
span.td{ overflow:hidden; vertical-align:top }
span.td{ width:50% }

elements relating to the side bar

content that belongs in the middle of the page
